Companies such as Google Maps, which provides geographical information, and Zillow, which collects metadata about physical addresses, embed unverifiable information/data about physical addresses and fail to digitize and decentralize physical addresses for broader use. A disruptive and innovative approach to digitizing physical addresses using blockchain technology has been patented (PN: US 10,614,058 B2; USPTO 2020) to modernize address management, enhance security, and streamline business operations. Digitizing physical addresses using blockchain technology involves creating a secure, immutable record of addresses, digitizing those physical addresses, encrypting them for privacy, enriching them with geolocation and other metadata, and facilitating secure communications through smart contracts and decentralized applications.
One of the use applications is the mailing industry, the POST OFFICE. E-address is the only patented platform to digitize aspects of the U.S. Postal Services (USPS). This technology allow users to communicate based on physical addresses. Just as WhatsApp allows individuals to communicate with others through phone number, E-Address creates a new line of communication for individuals and businesses through the use of existing or new physical addresses. Companies, businesses, and individuals can use E-address to communicate with potential and existing customers.
E-address allow businesses, such as an electric company, to send bills and other communications to its customers by simply knowing the customers' physical address. The bill/communication will appear in the customer’s centralized inbox under utilities and the sender will be notified if the bill/communication was opened by end users. The bill/communication will be readily available instead of 2-4 day mail delivery time, and the sender would save on the cost of paper, ink, and mail delivery through this environmentally friendly process.
Since not everyone is signed up for E-bill and even if they were, all bills associated with each physical address is paid separately by going to each supplier, such as electric company's website. E-address links all bills associated with that physical address in one user interface. Any utility company or municipality can communicate with the physical addresses using the E-address platform.
The average household receives 41 lbs. of junk mail per year, or about 16.5 pieces of mail per week. Of that mail, 44% is thrown away unopened, and only about 20% of that is recycled. Twenty-eight billion gallons of water are needed to produce and recycle that mail annually and over 100 million trees are used. That’s the equivalent of cutting down Rocky Mountain National Park every 3 months. E-address is on a mission to change this by eliminating the need for mailboxes. Our vision is to connect the nation’s doorsteps through preserving the environment, reducing waste, and cost of mail delivery. We have created the digital equivalent of snail mail.
